2010-03-15: Scholarships available to LGBTI Health Summit -- Applications due Friday Feb 16th!

Hey, our Blogging Scholarship to SRNT was so successful, we want to do it again, only bigger. So this is it, yet another instant scholarship opportunity for one of those supercool LGBTI health events! Every other year the planets align in one of the most interesting and informative queer health events ever, the LGBTI Health Summit. This year, there are a record number of tobacco presentations at this summit. There is also a record amount of LGBT tobacco work being done nationwide -- so the National LGBT Tobacco Control Network is proud to announce up to 6 scholarships for tobacco advocates to the upcoming LGBTI Health Summit.

Scholarships will be available in several categories.

2 BLOGGING scholarships! These recipients will be asked to keep a near-livetime blog of all their experiences at the Summit -- allowing all the rest of us to get some of the information from afar.

2 YOUTH Scholarships! You must be 26 or under, and have a history of activity in youth tobacco issues.

2 TRAINING scholarships! Are you working on or advocating for LGBT tobacco issues? Then come visit with your fellow advocates, get more training on the latest LGBT tobacco lessons, and go back with new ideas on how to make your work even better!

Summit details: March 15-18th, Philadelphia, PA,
Scholaships will cover, airfare, ground transport, conference registration and double occupancy hotel. Awardees not doing the blogging scholarship will also be asked to write a brief summary of the lessons learned after the fact to share with others. All awardees will be required to attend approximately 4 hrs of tobacco trainings during the event. Applicants from underserved populations (low SES, communities of color, rural, etc.) will be given extra benny points in the review.

Application details:

All applications are *** due Friday February 16th, by 5 pm EST. ***
